Join us on Saturday March 22nd at the Belle Isle Casino to test drive as many pairs of running shoes as you want FOR FREE. Try out that shoe you read about in a magazine OR figure out if you like trail shoes OR find out if that one shoe you’ve been eyeing feels as great as it looks. We’ll set up a recommended course with varied terrains and you can run it as many times as you like in as many different shoes as you want.
We’ll also have some compression products, GPS and nutrition for you to try. Each vendor will be raffling off an item so the first 500 to register will also have a chance to win prizes!
Leave your wallet at home. This event is completely free and there are no sales (ie no pressue) to buy any of the products you try.
Please Register for this free event by clicking the button below.Recreation Passport

Vendors will be set up inside the Belle Isle Casino.
*For those unfamiliar with this location, the Belle Isle Casino is a large banquet/event space on the west side of the Island. It is not an operational casino.
We will create a couple short courses outside for testing shoes on various terrains. There is plenty of free parking in the lots surrounding the casino. As Belle Isle is now a State Park please scroll down to determine if you will need to purchase a Recreation Passport.

We could use a handful of volunteers to assist with set up (8:30-10am) and breakdown of the event (2-3pm). Please click the button below to be taken to our volunteer sign up page.
Yes! I can help
On Feb. 10, 2014 (the date Belle Isle becomes Michigan’s 102nd state park) the gradual phase-in of the Recreation Passport requirement for island access begins. The $11 Recreation Passport offers access to all Michigan state parks and recreation areas, state forest campgrounds and boat launch and trail parking for a typical 12-month period when purchased through the Secretary of State during license plate registration renewal.
The Recreation Passport is directly tied to Michigan drivers’ license plate registration renewal. Throughout Belle Isle’s first year of Recreation Passport requirement, a vehicle can access the island without a Recreation Passport until the owner’s next registration renewal date. For example, if a vehicle license plate registration renewal date is August 2014, then the Passport is not needed on that vehicle until August. If needed, you will be able to purchase a Pass for $11 on Belle Isle the day of the event.
